Teuila Gerber Lavea has been a photojournalist for over 40 years. With her unique and rare genetic composition, she has been drawn to both sides of the globe, documenting cultural and musical exchanges from the royal halls of Europe to the woven huts of Polynesia. Her background in music as a lead singer in various bands and jazz ensembles, as well as a back-up singer in the American Music Award winning and Grammy nominated pop band, The Jets, has given her specific insights into artistically capturing visual and audio performances. She is a world covering cinematographer, and has spent many a rainy night, in a beach hut, without food or electricity, just to get the shot.
She brings authenticity and drama to her work, seeking to harness the intrinsic mystery and magic of being alive, and setting that, frame by frame, into the Universe. [schließen]
